Fibroma osificante en el maxilar: reporte de un caso y revisión de la literatura

El fibroma osificante central (fibroma cementificante/fibroma cemento osificante FO), es un tumor benigno caracterizado por manifestarse en mandíbula, en escasas ocasiones en maxilar y que comúnmente afecta al sexo femenino entre la tercera y cuarta década de vida. La mayoría de las lesiones típicamente muestran una evolución lenta que a su vez puede llegar a ser extensa. La resección quirúrgica es el tratamiento de elección. Su recurrencia es infrecuente. El objetivo es presentar un caso clínico de fibroma central con sus repercusiones físicas, mostrando la experiencia clínica alcanzada con el uso de un colgajo modificado, así como la terapéutica a seguir para la resolución de dichos casos, con lo que se logró una excelente evolución postoperatoria.
